Question on a BCG

Working on trading a Mini 14 for an AR that has "a Colt BCG".

How can you tell if it is indeed as described guys? Are there any markings on it that would indicate manufacturer?

The carrier should have a C stamped into it. Or a D if its a Canadian made one. Generally on the left side of the carrier.
