That is pretty nice, not sure about 12000 nice, but probably around 6-7 nice. I would hire a mover for that one.

Shit, with my old pier & beam house, that thing would fall right through the floor and continue straight to middle earth. Pretty nice though.

Fire rating is great, but 3/16 steel and it's layout/capacity is pretty anemic, I don't see why you would want such a large safe for such a small quantity/layout. And for the price, it's extremely overpriced compared to other offerings.

I don't have quite the array as some of you.

I thought it was a nice layout, almost a presentation of your "finest" guns type safe. But as previously mentioned, not for 12k.

Outside hinges and a way to pivot the middle...I could get into that pretty easily.

The best safes in the world have outside hinges, it's not a weak point, the door bolts secure the door, the hinges only serve to hold the door when it's open, cut the hinges off and you haven't made any progress. But that center open is definitely the weak point.

Exactly. With the center joint it would be easy to pry the doors out a little after you cut off the hinges.

You're assuming there is no door bolts on that side, there probably is at least 4 of them on each side so the hinges wouldn't do anything if they were removed.

The thing is an old records vault that has been probably painted black. Not that you guys already didn't figure that out. We threw out about 4-5 of those almost exactly like that at my work a few years ago. They were predominantly used in a era where digital storage was not as readily accessible as it is today. I will say that they are HEAVY mofos and built extremely well. I would have tried to get one if I would have had a way to get it home. I wouldn't say that they are the most secure things but will for sure keep your average kick door crooks out of it easily and have excellent fire retardant characteristics. Is it worth 12k? hell no.

That's a good point, I don't even see any door bolts. It's just a heavy ass tool cabinet. Venix is more on top of this than I am, I was under the impression it was a safe with door bolts.

Maybe the door bolts are on top and bottom only? Depending on how many, where they are located and how far apart they are spaced, it could be as simple as cutting the hinges.

Also, looks like all the hinges are the same. Door drops into hinges from the top. Would think that at least 2 would be opposite to keep the door from being lifted off...I know you can't lift it off while it's closed.

It's not a gun safe. Like CJ said its more of a heavy ass tool cabinet. It's original sole purpose was not really for document security but more for fire protection for documents. That lock on the front is it fellas.
