I've got a Model 70 .338 Win Mag Classic Sporter. I don't know a lot of history on this gun nor what year it's from. It was part of some weapons and ammo that I purchased as a lot last year from an estate. I'm trying to determine a reasonable value on this thing, b/c I'm going to put it on the market soon.
Looking around on the internet it seems these are pretty well sought after guns, but year model can make some difference on the price too. Most I've seen are going between $600-$800, depending of course on condition and whether or not they have a scope. This is a well cared for piece, looks to be in good shape, and has a Simmons scope on it too.
I've seen some in the $1200-$1500 range, but I'm assuming those are just the typical internet crack smokers?
I took it out last weekend and shot it for the first time....it's a friggin cannon and not something your shoulder will like very many rounds of...not to mention the cost of those rounds. However...the gun shoots very well, is amazingly accurate....just not the most practical unless you are hunting grizzly bears or elephants.
Anyone familiar with these?
