No, I don't think it will pass...but I keep my fingers crossed anyway...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

        Who's the dillweed?

I'm really hoping it does. It's a pain in the ass to keep from printing.

Dill Weed that Killed the Bill Basically:

Right now it's sitting in Committee where it has died that previous two sessions - Rep. Pickett is Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and needs to bring this to a vote to move on. Contact info is below.

          Status of Bill :

Because of that Dill Weed, it never left the Committee and it basically is DEAD because of ONE person... (He wouldn't allow it to come up to be voted on, so basically it died in the Committee).

I'd like it to, but don't think it will. I have no basis for that opinion, just gut feeling. I doubt I would even choose to open carry if it did pass, except in limited situations, since I now have my CHL.

BTW, I am curious about the definition of "dual points of resistance".

I have a Blackhawk Serpa 2 Paddle Holster for my XD. It has a, and I quote: "Passive retention detent adjustment screw and SERPA® Auto Lock™ release" which I assume counts as the dual points of resistance. What I am unsure of, is if a standard leather holster with a thumb break, like Galco and such, would count.

Or even a basic drop leg holster, like the military style, that just has the snap strap or flap thing.

I would love to be able to carry in nice leather belt holster OWB, where I would cover it the majority of the time, but may be visible intermittently, or if I take of my jacket.

I would prefer to carry in something like the below, rather than my IWB, but they are obviously more difficult to conceal 100% of the time.

"Printing" is not necessarily illegal if not intentional, and that it is not discernible as a handgun by a reasonable person. A "bulge" should not be considered a problem.

Too many "if's" that something like this would solve. That is my sole reasoning to support open carry, to take away the fear of printing.

Yep, basically the same as I mentioned above.

The way I understand it is single retention would be the gun won't fall out but all you have to do it pull the gun out. Dual points of retention would be the gun is secured by the first point of retention but you also have to do something else IE: hit a release button or undo a snap. I might be wrong but that was my interpretation of it.

Which is kind of what I am thinking, but does that first point of retention need to be adjustable, like the adjustable screw, or is snug fit leather sufficient. They do not define it, which leaves too much room for interpretation by LE, IMO.

Friction only is not really a retention level. A level 1 holster is something with a thumb break or a Safariland ALS only holster.

I'm lazy, what's the wording on dual points of resistance?
