Looks like a lunchbox to me?

I dont see a gun jumping out and attacking anyone, must be concealed.

I believe that being an officer, you know what is supposed to be in a Glock gun box. If a gun were in it, it is not visible. To the non-gun people, it looks like a plastic case.
What does the law say about guns in cars? To my knowledge it has to be concealed. Not visible to the casual passer by. Clearly that IF a gun were in it, it is not visible.

That is the question, can you be sure that a gun is in the box? Might be empty.

I actually had a conversation about this with my team.

I'll let you know MY opinion as interpreted after we get a few more votes.

Just for reference, here's a copy/past from the CHL handbook:

                GC §411.171. DEFINITIONS.
                In this subchapter:

(1)“Action” means single action, revolver, or semi-automatic action.
(2)“Chemically dependent person” means a person who frequently
or repeatedly becomes intoxicated by excessive indulgence in alcohol
or uses controlled substances or dangerous drugs so as to acquire a fixed
habit and an i nvoluntary tendency to become intoxicated or use those
substances as often as the opportunity is presented.
(3)“Concealed handgun” means a handgun, the presence of which
is not openly discernible to the ordinary observation of a reasonable person.

That could just be a empty box.

The handgun is completely concealed. Any other answer is false.

                        Is this a joke?

I dont see any guns in the pic to raise the question of concealment.

I just checked the box in my closet. It is empty and looks just like the closed one. What if you had a shoe box in that seat with "gun box" written on it.

This conversation is a perfect way to gauge good officer discretion.

To me, concealed means upon someones person or otherwise immediately accessible (Ie in the side pocket of a car door).

A gun in a case like that is no different than being in a range bag which means its stored or in transport.
