I posted in the HTF for the New York guys, so I'll post something short here for everyone else.
New York has made it clear they want firearms out of civilian hands. While we could stay and continue to sell to people outside of the state (for now), we would be unable to arm our New York brothers with firearms that are now deemed illegal. With that in mind, all our efforts to create a unique tactical firearm experience will never open it's doors to the public. The SAFE act has one goal, one purpose, to make New York UNSAFE for those who do not have hired security. The state will also continue to pass new restrictions on firearms and firearm ownership, and with Bloomberg's financial support behind it, it will be difficult to stop. All of these anti-gun, high profile people, like the Mayor, the Governor, heck even the POTUS, all protect themselves with some sort of armed security. It's simply insulting to think their lives are worth more than ours, our families, and our friends.
In New York, we had already lived with restrictions which have made it difficult to be a gun owner, but we made due and accepted some losses to live in a place which is beautiful and filled with possibilities. At this time we no longer feel the same. New York has stripped us of freedoms and the ability to exist as a business by making our products illegal to sell. We have lived here most of our lives, 35+ years. Sadly, it is time for us to move on and after debating on where, we settled on north Texas, outside of Dallas.
We look forward to a fresh start and working hard to rebuild. While still finalizing the move, we do have an accelerated plan to move the website out of New York before June. Our goal for the server move will be to do so with as short an interruption as possible. Please understand this is not a simple process and that we are working diligently to ensure it is smooth.
Thank you all for your support, your jokes, your stories, your knowledge, and your friendships. It has been a long road that has gotten us this far and we hope it will be a longer road that we take in Texas.
