Most store bought ones can be, the metal is pretty thin.

Ive heard stories about bolted safes in garages getting stolen by being pulled up with a truck and a chain.

My safe was over 800 lbs empty and 2 little guys with a 4-wheel furniture dolly and a 2' long piece of 4x4 moved it pretty easy. Mine is bolted to the slab.

Mine is bolted. Can't remember the weight. Make criminals work as hard as possible if they are going to steal your shit.

Meh, they will have to figure a way inside a house with 3 dogs without alerting neighbors that go nowhere all day. Much less they have to know where the safe is and come prepared to move it which will be noticeable. A safe is only designed to keep a fly by night thief out that strike out of opportunity.

Bolt them down and have a house alarm.

No safe is a guarantee against a thief. If you give them enough time they can cut into your safe. A sawzall with metal cutting blades will get into 99 percent of all the safes out there in under an hour. Hence the house alarm.

That's the way most safes are designed, very few safes anyone has in their house will stop someone who is actually prepared to open a safe.

Mine is a "nicer" safe, but my primary concern was fire protection(1600 degrees at 90 minutes). If a criminal comes prepared to get into a safe he will, no matter how much you spent.

I'm hoping between my alarm, my CCTV with alerts, my secondary alert system, and my safe my belongings are secure from would be criminals.

Got em bolted down with a code to the door on the gun room, motion sensors in and around connected to my phone and ADT, and full CCTV system inside and out that I can see from my phone/computer, and a $20 dead bolt on the front door.

Mine is primarily for fire protection as well. I figure 1hr at 1600 should save stuff long enough for the fire department to show up and ruin anything thats not burnt.

you bolt it to the floor not because of theft, but so it wont tip over.

500 - 800 lb safes are easy to drag out of a house if they are not bolted down. The only reason it took 3 guys to move it is because you don't wants to damage the house. I'm pretty sure anyone trying to haul your safe away isn't concerned about your floor or walls.

A heavy duty furniture dolly, PVC pipes, golf balls, etc. will get a safe moving faster than you can stop it.
