  • Colt 1911 worth?

I have a colt M1991A1 1911 that I am curious as to what it's worth... I ONLY bring this up as I was contemplating the option of going to a 1911 with a rail so I could use a weapon light. Ideas on the Colt's value? Or even it's trade value toward a Colt/Kimber/S&W/Sig/Springfield 1911 with a railed frame.. Thanks.
(My colt is mint. Has original plastic grips and packmyer grips, ambi safety, shot MAYBE 100 rounds).

These days, probably about $50... I'll give you $100 just so you feel like you got a deal.

If I recall your father in law gave that to you .... if that's the case just keep it and buy a Dawson mini rail or buy the surefire military model light.

If it has any sentimental value at all work around the problem. If not, than about 800-900 or so I think.

been seeing them sell for 850 and up consistently. Considering the other 1911's that sell in that price range the colt is quite the bargain.

As most of you know, Im a Glock nut hugger, BUT I bought a Colt 1911 a few weeks ago and I love that gun more than any other gun I have ever owned. So much about that gun I enjoy. Glocks I have always looked at as a weapon, this 1911 is a work of art. Now, would it replace my Glock is a gun battle with the colt? No way in hell Im not saying the colt isnt reliable, just saying Im a glock nut hugger for a reason haha

Value depends on condition and manufacturer. Some manufacturers like Remington rand, Ithaca, and singer carry premiums. Just for reference.
