  • Rifle Stock Options

I'm tire of the bullshit the stock on my rifle is giving me. What are some options for a new stock for a Remington 700 .308 that won't break the bank. I would almost prefer going back to the original stock it came with but I don't have it anymore.

What stock do you have? May be worth trading it.

What are you doing w/ the gun? I mean what kind of shooting are you doing? I'm a big fan of chassis systems. They drop right in, and don't require bedding, or inletting.

I have a Manners T4 w/ a Mini-chassis. it's great. Before that I had 2 different AICS systems, but they are a heavy. One great local option is the

            Rock Solid Stock

            Manners Mini-Chassis

            AICS

            McCree Chassis

            KRG Whiskey Chassis

            XLR Chassis

If you don't require detachable mags you could just buy a stock and have it bedded, or buy the new Manners BDL mini-chassis. It's about the same price as bedding, and you can use it on different rifles if you end up w/ a different barreled action ( as long as it's a 700 or 700 clone)

Manners and McMillan are great stocks.

Manners is a top notch company. They have a life time warranty, and Tom Manners himself will take care of your issues.

I sent mine in last tuesday, they got it on Thursday, and had it fixed, and even UPGRADED, then back in the mail on FRIDAY. That's fucking service.

Good thing about Manners is they come inletted for the bottom metal you have/want. I'm pretty sure McMillan will do that for you as well. B&C can be drop it, but I've always noticed they required fitting/inletting.

Oh , what stock do you have now? And what issue is it giving you?

If you don't mind, what's your whole setup ? It's always good to know these things to narrow down issues.

X2 for Manners customer service, Tom is great to deal with. Also a lot of the stocks can require inletting if an aftermarket trigger like a jewel.

Yeah, they will do all that for you as well. My Mini-chassis should take any trigger now.

Same here mine dropped right in on my mini chassis as well. My HS required a good bit of clearance. The B&C required just a little for a shilen trigger on my dad's 25-06.

I have the ultimate sniper choate stock. The spring and follower I have aren't working. I have to load one round at a time into the chamber.

yeah, those are big and heavy, and I'm guessing the inlet does not fit your bottom metal.
