I've been wanting one of these since I first saw them, but have not found them at MSRP yet. They were all way over MSRP.($600-750) I just got lucky at a local shop when I saw they had a shipment of them.
I've been carrying the Kimber Solo, and the M&P is a taller gun, it's just overall bigger. I'm wanting to make sure I'm comfy w/ that before I ditch the Solo. I think I'm going to hold onto both for a month and see which one I like best.
I think the holster can make or break a pistol, so I ordered a Comp-Tac MTAC for the Shield. I carry the Solo in a Galco Kingtuk, and I really like the feel of that holster. It just disappears after wearing it for a while. I don't feel like I wear the tightest fitting clothing, but I hate feeling like I'm going to print. That's why I went from a Glock 19, to a H&K P2000, to a Springfield EMP down to the lil Solo. The Solo is made to carry. It's smooth on all edges, it's comfy , the mags are flush. The Shield is comfy to hold, and feels like a micro battle pistol. It does not look like corners were cut on this pistol. It breaks clean for a striker, and has a solid reset compared to any other M&P I've shot. It does however have a heavy trigger. If I decide to keep it, I'm going to order the APEX tactical kit for it. I've not had a chance to shoot it, but I'm hoping that like most striker fired pistols, it will run like a top. The M&P line seems to have a good track record. Until I get my MTAC in I tightened down the CTAC I have for my glock, and it seems to fit it just fine. I have that and a leather clip on glaco that fits it as well. I'll update this thread after I put some rounds down this lil guy.
It may look close in size to the glock, but it's so much thinner.
