There's a few threads on this. I'd be interested in seeing how it holds up.
"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." -Alexander Fraser Tytler

You should download the mag. I could sell the mags at $20 and get the money back like that.

The problem is followers and springs.

You can print the followers too, it's just the spring you need. I downloaded it when it first showed up on the interwebz, but don't have a printer. If you buy a printer and will sell them to me for $15 each I'm in.

I'd be interested to see the lifetime of the parts, as well as what other mags could be made.

It shows you how to make springs even out of piano wire.

I do not envy the person who does that. Springs are pretty complex metallurgy, I really doubt you could just bend yourself a spring and end up with a functional reliable magazine.

Yes, that's true, I'm definitely interested. I assume they make black plastic as well? or are you stick with a white mag? haha.

I'll say this in jest... Kinda.

If we are at a point that we NEED to make magazines with a polymer printer, we're going to be printing LOTS of things in the same vein: we would also be seeing a sharp rise in black smithing and forging as well. But to put it simply, a basement-made stamped AR lower with a lightning link and a ton of reloaded brass... shooting out of white mags will be the least of our troubles.

Why are their so many threads on this? Lol

Any printer that can print good enough for reliability will still be way more than buying a whole gang of magazines. You can pretty easily fabricate a spring of this type, I assume CJ is think of more tuned springs for recoil and inertial when he assumes they're complex metallurgy.

Again, your best bet is a personal cnc machine, he'll you can even make your own molds.

Btw, direct metal sintering has come a long way and will eventually be practical for this stuff.
