Not a fan of open carry.

    Open carry means first shot.

I would almost expect it to make it easier to pass.

Is there any proof of this?

Could it also mean first deterrent and the perp moves on to somewhere else?

Shoukd be pretty easy to find out. Oregon is open carry, and so is Arizona. Pull up some stats and see how many carriers were shot at robberies and such.

I dont think it holds true. I belueve it is a deterrent and makes the bad guy reassess that particular life choice.

Actually, I think all the shit going on will give it a better chance of passing. Texas LOVES to thumb its nose at the Democrats in DC and this is an outstanding opportunity. Rick Perry is probably masturbating with some Breakfree CLP at the thought of giving Obama the finger on this.

I think it's a great idea. I would still carry concealed but I would no longer have to worry about printing or if I'm wearing an appropriate shirt.

if this were to pass, would you still need a CHL to carry concealed?

I'm not a fan of open carry, though I'd vote for it simply for the protection of us with current CHL rules. A little more lax on the C (concealed).

The reason I am for this is because that means as a CHL holder you can't get some stupid ass printing charge. But I think the premise behind open carry is silly and reckless.

Same thoughts here, if I ever do need to use mine I kind of like the element of surprise. But I am still for this being passed

Never heard of anyone getting nailed for printing. The way we were taught was as a CHL holder you are only required to attempt to conceal.

I'm just giving an example of why open carry would be beneficial to us.

I'd open carry with Jacket's. That way the jacket covers it most of the time, but it's not just out there hanging out for all the world to see 100% of the time like my junk.
