Which route would be best for an active duty military member? I want to build an SBR, but this is a little confusing.

He was not the quickest to deal with but he was very busy with a legal case also.

kbscobravert is active duty, looks like he went the trust route. I'm not sure if being active military had anything to do with that decision though.

Id say the trust route. Not from easier to acquire but for moving purposes such as moving to a state that doesnt allow NFA items. Then you could leave them with a parent/whoever is on the trust in a state that allows NFA.

          Almost.

I am a civilian contractor deployed in Afghanistan with the military. But yes the Trust was the best route for me.

My trust is over 35 pages and covers more than just NFA.

One of the main reasons I went trust. With my wife on the Trust I don't have to worry about her getting in trouble for JBT issues. Not that they would ever have a reason to enter my house/safe etc. I know that she is legal is a peace of mind thing.

Huh, I have always though you were military, I stand corrected.

I guess there's worse things I could have mistaken you for

                Just an update:

Texas law shield also does NFA trusts for $300. I was talking with one of the reps about it and he said its a pretty nice program. It does cost $20 to change your paperwork for each new item, but that still seems cheap.

Who else can I pay to do a trust for me? I'm currently in South Korea, and would prefer just to pay someone to do it.

So, lets say you formed a trust with several people, and there was a falling out between the involved parties. What happens then?

So if you're building a SBR and you have a Trust set up, you then just send in the Form 1 with your trust information? Do you still have to supply fingerprints and picture with the Form 1 even though you setup the trust?

you don't build it until you have your form 1. No fingerprints with a trust.

you amend the trust and submit it to the BATFE.
