Agreed on Mossberg 500 and Benelli. Avoid the Maverick 88.
Don't rule out the new Mossberg Flex system - interchangeable stocks, barrels, forends. Tactical shotgun to camo hunter in about a minute. I'm seriously thinking about one.
Look at the Remington 870 - carried em for years, beat to hell from being put in/out of a squad car, thousands of rounds through them at the range over the years. Never a single problem.
I'd also skip the Smith & Wesson 1200. Slide bars tend to bind under rapid fire conditions, slowing down the slide action.

I want a rem 877 Nittro Mag....anyone have opinions on this one? The 'tactical' version is the one I am looking at. Saw one at the gun show for $411Originally posted by Sean88gtYou can take white off the list. Buy the no frills 500 or the Maverick 88. I have a top folding stock that ill sell you for $25.
It's this one.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776
