I would've expected an enlightened gentleman such as yourself to understand the basic concept of supply and demand.

I hate gouging companies!!!!! Anyone who will not sell to me at normal pricing so that I can immediately put things on the internet for 5-10x what I paid is dead to me!!!

What drove the demand up in the first place? Take that away...

And in states where it's illegal, only those willing to risk a felony will trade. Is it that difficult for you to understand? If there were a ban it would now be the same 94 ban.

The threat that in days, weeks, or months, people would no longer be able to buy semiautomatic rifles and "high capacity" magazines drove up demand: buy now while you still can.

OK, if they're banned, that means one of the following: they're illegal to possess; they're illegal to transfer; or they're illegal to manufacture. Only if they become illegal to possess will you have lost the money you spent (if they're confiscated, you lose it all; if they're "bought back," you only lose most of it; no fucking way the government could or would reimburse you for each and every rifle and pistol you have). If they become illegal to transfer, you still have a useful rifle. And if they only become illegal to manufacture, you have a useful rifle that can be sold for even more than you paid for it, because supply is now frozen.

How can you not get this? You obviously have the ability to read...have you never taken an economics class?

The reason the prices shot up is because people panic bought ass loads of ARs and Mags. Some people will keep theirs because they genuinely wanted them, most purchased for resale in the event a ban like the 94 passes. None of the bans I've seen are like the 94, and this VERY thread as well as my comments are about the idea of a ban not even happening.

Take away the fear of a ban, and couple it with those who invested in large amounts of inventory now competing with standard manufacturers prices...and you'll have a drop in prices.

You said it'll still be illegal in certain states. If so...that still drives demand down, and again the bans I've read make the TRANSFER illegal if not possession all together.

Are you just making your own shit up to keep an argument going or can your really not handle this much thinking?

And why was there a panic? Because of the threat of bans.

I haven't seen any proposed bans written, only talk about what they'd like to see.

Sure, if there's no ban then all the people that bought them lose a lot of money. But if there's a ban that doesn't make it illegal to transfer them, then they still have most of their inflated value. Most people that bought them to flip in the future are banking on being able to do so.

                I didn't say that.

I'm not making shit up. I think you're the one struggling to understand what's going on.
