That's my point...something like a 930/11-87/m2000 and any mid range polymer pistol.

eventually will, but also purchasing new tires for the vehicles (2), a new bed, and some other items all within 30-60 days. I'll push off one of the toys for a few months or less.

My budget is what I want it to be, I'll just push the 2nd firearm until later is all. I could buy it all now if I wanted, just fiscally being smart and keeping a little extra buffer in the play fun if I come across something I HAVE to have.

The pistol will "sit in a dresser" as much as you allow it to, get out to the range and shoot it. I dunno much about clay shooting, but I would think that the targets are a bit more expensive than paper, but perhaps that's made up in the cost of ammo/# of rounds fired per outing.

It boils down to which one you find to be more fun, though you can go to a shooting range easily by yourself, and aren't dependent on the weather.

For a grand I don't see why you couldnt' pick up both.

Then go with a decent entry/mid auto loader...anywhere for 450-800 will get ya a nice new one. Unless you shoot a huge amount, a high end won't really pay off.

Based on my experience, you would be more inclined to wish you went from pump to auto as a first gun instead of wishing you went from an 11-87 to an a400 or 500 to an 870

Clays are dirt cheap, target shells are pretty similar in price to 9mm, so the cost of shooting is a small factor between.

Shotguns are always waaaayyyy more fun.

I could pick up both but I'm just going to get one for now. Clay's are only about $8-10 for 90 if I'm not mistaken. I only shoot a couple times a year and had more fun with the clays and am interested to go hunting.

That makes sense, I'm just now learning anything about these. The only thing I knew about shotguns before was from Doom 2 with the side by side break over shotgun.

No sir, just to a few local (indoor ranges) and my dad's. He has 20+ acres near McKinney that I can shoot at whenever I want.

While I'm very well versed at good ole white trashy chips in a field somewhere, I love a good pigeon range.

You would shit yourself with delight at elm fork shooting some sporting clays
