  • Need to send my Taurus in for repair, but how?

I've called both UPS stores and USPS here in McKinney. UPS said I'd have to send it in 2 seperate pices, like slide in one box and base in another box and USPS says it has to go through a dealer.
    Has anyone been through this?

    Thanks!

...or would I be better off having it repaired locally? The ejector on my Millenium Pro PT111 Pro snapped off in dissassembly. No idea what that would cost to replace...

    Thanks, guys!

I had a Para Ordnance that I had to send in, it had to be done through my FFL.

Did they send it back the same way, or to you directly? Mayve I'll have to ship it through Cheaper Than Dirt or something.

          Thanks for the response!

PS: When I talked to Taurus a couple months ago, they recomended UPS, but said I'd have to check around and make sure, but each state was different. The UPS guy said some do it, but they have to pay for a special license or something. He didn't know which ones do.

Cheaper than dirt is crazy expensive for FFL stuff. Look elsewhere.

If you have to use an FFL, I highly recommend Jeff @ www.livetoshoot.com - he posts here as well. Very reasonable prices.

You can ship it through UPS yourself. It has to be dropped off at a Customer Service Center and shipped 2nd day air. About $30

Look here for locations in DFW. Put in your Zip Code and click Customer Center

Or you can have an FFL ship it for you. They will charge you a fee plus shipping. They send it USPS Priority Mail. Jeff, listed above, charges $15 plus shipping charges.

I thought that when sending it to the manufacturer and when they return it, no FFL was needed? Seems like I read that on here or in Canada when another member sent his pistol in for service like that.

Have you checked with the USPS?

If memory serves me you can send to them yourself, but the manufacturer MUST send it to an FFL to get it back to you. I used my FFL both ways because they were the ones I bought it from. It was only a couple months old and the slide cracked on it so they covered all shipping cost.

You can ship to the manufacturer for repair, they will ship it right back to you, no FFL required.

2006 i shipped a pistol complete to S&W from my UPS account at work. They returned it to me there also. No FFL involved.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

If you search the taurus forums, you'll get more specific answers on how they handle it. I always laugh my ass off at the taurus forums regarding the return questions. There is like 50+ people who reply within minutes explaining how their return was handled, everyone on the board has done it, lol.
