  • CTD at it again.

I got online early Wednesday morning looking for PMags online (since i knew they were going quick) and found that CTD had them in stock at a decent price. So I went ahead and ordered 5 of them. Well I just got an emial saying that they did not reveive their drop shipment from Magpul, and they are refunding my money, and that I can check back with them next week to re-order the mags if they have them in stock. My thoughts are if they do have them in stock they will be 5x's what I originally ordered them for!!! I am beyond pissed, not just at CTD but at my self for waiting too long to buy more mags!

This was posted on the Thunder Ranch Facebook page. It was posted on 12/18 so I'm sure all the PMags are gone by now...

HUGE DIFFERENCE TO MAKE A NOTE OF!!!
Many of you might not know this but there are TWO Cheaper than Dirts! There is the absolutely IDIOT Cheaper than Dirt business that suspended all gun sales starting today on their online catalogs due to the recent RMMs. They ALSO raised the prices of their P Mags from $15 each to $65 Each today!
I could go on about this but all of you need to go to their Facebook...the online catalog ... and send them a message about them being absolute fools in caving in to this emotional, illogical mindset and NOW using this tragedy to fill their check books by hosing us.
The ACTUAL gun store Cheaper Than Dirt in Ft. Worth Texas...they are a totally DIFFERENT BUSINESS and are IN NO way connected to the people running the catalog.
The STORE CTD are who we have been dealing with for decades. Dewayne Irwin and his amazing staff have been OUR #1 place for us personally to purchase guns and for many of you who have asked us for help on guns and gear...these are the guys that have helped you GET the guns you needed and the gear you wanted!!! Do NOT CONFUSE THESE TWO!
Dewayne is Clint's baby brother in more ways than he can count. Dewayne has supported us and TR for decades and IF I need anything and when we have been in trouble...Dewayne is one of the first people I call for help. He and his staff need our support and get the word out that they have nothing to do with this latest publicity stunt by the catalog owners.
He also still has his P Mags for sale at $15 each!
Thanks for listening to me vent!!!

How are they two different companies with the same logo and contact information? Can someone exlaborate?
I know when you go to thier website, it only shows the McKinney store and no mention of Ft Worth location....
Seems a bit confusing to me.
So how do you get the $15 PMAGS from Cheaper Than Dirt instead of the $60 ones?

I guess its just a logical leap since one resides in the small corner of the larger other it would be connected somehow. I also assume that if we had a large amount of product that for one reason or another came into large demand we would all be the last ones to increase prices. Nobody likes businesses that make money

The retail store in Ftw is Cheaper than Dirt Outdoor Adventures.
The others, Online sales counter inside above and Mckinney are Cheaper than Dirt.

I always heard that it was a family thing gone bad, I guess that's just what people assume. I was told different by both parties about a month ago, before all the hysteria set in.

My shift went to do a "Pre-Incident Fire Plan" where we have to plot out the whole building and pertinent info like exits, gas and electric cutoffs, etc.. That building used to be several businesses, but now it's probably 80% warehouse, and a helluva lot bigger than you think from being in the store. I can't give too many details about the layout of the building behind the scenes, but it was a funky layout that separates them. Basically, a roll-up door is opened to a pretty small stock room, supplies are wheeled in, and the door gets shut right back. That's pretty much the extent of interaction. We had to inspect both businesses, and they were amicable when in each other's company, but with trying to keep some professionalism and not blab about what I was told by both parties, let's just say there is probably validity to the rumors (except it being a family business gone bad).

If y'all need me to check on availability of ammo or whatever, just post up and I can check it out when I get off shift in the mornings.

So your going to tell me that they have stock at the Ft Worth storefront and will sell them for $15 each and the online, counter sales at FW and the storefront McKinney locations operate from and take inventory from the same warehouses and aren't going to take any available stock when they are selling them for $65 a pop?? Or fulfill back orders for them at $65 a pop, but are going to let us good ole boys from Ft Worth stroll in and get them for $15 a pop? Really??......really.....

Yes, most likely. However, I'm sure CTD Outdoor Adventures is sold out in their storefront. The difference is that *some* retailers will still let you purchase their guns/mags/ammo at the normal price, but you just have to wait for the manufacturers to catch up, and it to come in.

I'm interested in some 5.56 and some PMAGS if you don't mind checking.

Also, I'm all for businesses making money. People aren't in business to lose money or break even. I understand supply and demand and am not knocking anyone for increasing prices. I was just unaware that they are two different companies and if the Ft Worth storefront is stil selling product at "non-panic" prices, I have no problem making the 10 minute drive and buying what I need...

                  Thanks and let me know!

                    Made a call, they are.

I'm not sure since I've been at work 5 days straight. I would assume they had limited hours today if they were open at all. I don't get off until 8 a.m. tomorrow, so I won't be able to check today. I'll be back for work New Year's day and can check the following day. I'm going to start another thread for stuff like this.

                        Do you work there?

If it's a matter of driving by and going in, I can do that as well, but sounds like you may have some insider info.

                        Thanks and Merry Christmas!

                              Really....HA!

I just stopped in....oh, and they have the 30rd PMAGS, Gen2 on the shelf. HOWEVER....they were $39.99 each, not the $15 each as you stated above.

So, I guess you could say that it's just not as bad of an ass raping as the on-line raping that you get from the back room/other business named CTD..

                              Disappointing.
