  • Buffer weights?

Ok, I had asked a question about a week ago about buffers and I did not know much about them then. I have a much better understanding now and am looking for any personal experiences. Basically what buffer weights are any of you guys running that have sbr's in the AR variant. Mine is a 7.5" length barrel using the pistol length gas system and I am having a hard time trying to figure out what weight buffer is a strong starting point... Is it H, H1, H2, H3 ......

I remember CJ saying that his rifle with the same upper that I have was very lazy with ejecting the brass. Would this mean his buffer was slightly on the heavy side? Do these kinds of SBR's have a more violent recoil than others? What are the traits that I can expect once I get it running?

I use an h2 in everything and have had zero problems.

I bought a H2 buffer, I had read a few times on the web that people had success with them with similar setups. One thing I found out for sure is that there are so many variables you just dont know until you actually shoot it.

Seems like h2 is a happy medium. But like you said, have to shoot it to know for sure.

I was running a piston system, which is why it goes slowly. 7.5" guns are frequently plagued with extractor issues because of the violent ejection/gas pulse. Are you running a new bcg or an older one? Is it working now?

No it's not running yet. I do have a new bcg though so it may be a bit tight for a few rounds.
