Anyone got an AR in .458 SOCOM???

Curious I was looking through a cartridge book and was reading a bit about it. Saw a website that had some barrels in stock.

Opinions please.

They're expensive to feed, even if you reload. That said, they're a blast to shoot. The 400gn loads kick like a mule!

I do. I haven't fired it once. I have 10 loads I need to test.

Where'd you find the barrels? It was a pain in the ass when I was looking for an upper - only SBR and RRA had them, they were both out of stock, and it took months to get one from SBR. Nobody else provided barrels at the time.

Tactical Ammunition has them listed for $255 (10.5-14.5") $19 more for a 16". It says it's a Black Hole Weaponry barrel. They have just about any caliber barrel you can think of listed on their site. I was looking for .300 blk barrels when I ran across their site.

This is the main reason I was looking at it! I can imagine it'd be like shooting a .45-70 govt, which I love!

It was not bad to shoot...i reloaded for it so it made it sting a little less...lol
