In Canada, one had to pay for registration of firearms (to offset govt expenses). So many owners waited until the last moment to submit paper work that they flooded the govt system. They had year long amnesty extensions every so many years. The gun owners made the country spend $2 billion in expenses, that every Canadian was pissed at the amount of money spent. That was with a gun owner population of probably a 1/3 of Texas' population on the high end estimate. If they tried it with the entire US, it would be a fucking nightmare.
Then we will just have to make it so excruciatingly painful on .gov. 50million gun owners in the US can be a huge thorn in their ass. Again, someone posted yesterday about how they haven't produced a budget in 5 years, I am not expecting a solution to the minuscule imaginary gun problem anytime soon.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

As of now a national gun registration would be illegal due to the 1986 fopa.
