Why? What do you plan to do with it? There are rifles that shoot much better for cheaper out there. People just like the name and fame more then anything else! Hey if you just WANT that...get it..hahah I am the first to buy things just because.

IF I was in the market for a .50BMG, I would try to pick up a Armalite AR50...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

The only other semi autos out there that are available are the serbu 50a (which is DI and will destroy your shoulder) or an m2 build. But yes, the bolt .50bmg guns are purportedly more accurate.

I am not knocking the OP,just curious what he is looking to do with it. Does he even want a Semi..could be a bolt Barrett. When you talk 50s people just assume that rifle If he plans to shoot it once a year,at long range targets...hell even the AR-50 is a much better choice. If he wants a semi auto then sure I think I would lean towards that rifle. Its an expensive toy and when you drop all that money on the gun some people cant buy ammo or glass...and they have no clue what it costs to enjoy it! I started with a cheap 50(trying to get into the sport) then upgraded to a nicer one. But every time I shoot either one I grin ear to ear...so great.

I would go broke, not showing up for work and spending the remaining money I have on ammo and beer.

If by chance you and I are in the country at the same time at some point we can go and rag it out.

Bring it the hell over here. Local government is already standing by their current gun views, despite what the Feds are talking about. I'm liking my decision more and more each day.

Not for me, looking for a buddy. I would buy a .338 if it was me, but I think he's is trying to buy it for the resale.

The only downside is the cost of ammo. For some, it wouldn't sway them, though. I'd trade my Cobra for one of them right now.
