If he plans to shoot it once a year,at long range targets...hell even the AR-50 is a much better choice. If he wants a semi auto then sure I think I would lean towards that rifle. Its an expensive toy and when you drop all that money on the gun some people cant buy ammo or glass...and they have no clue what it costs to enjoy it! I started with a cheap 50(trying to get into the sport) then upgraded to a nicer one. But every time I shoot either one I grin ear to ear...so great.
