    NRA concessions to placate the gun control crowd?

    So, the NRA is supposed to announce some concessions to the gun control crowd on Friday. Any advance ideas on what the organization we depend on to defend our Constitutional rights is going to do? When the NRA gets on board with any type of gun control agenda, the left-wing is gonna take it as a mandate that everyone is gonna be on board with their agenda.

    And here's the part that gripes me the worst: When we (conservatives) try to go along/get along in a spirit of cooperation with the left, we make concessions and meet them half way. When the shoe is on the other foot, the left never gives an inch and pretty well tells us to go piss up a rope. Its a lose/lose for us.

    Probably stricter background check stuff, maybe a waiting period, and perhaps addressing the "gun show loop hole". Who knows.

          NC has an interesting approach to FTF. For pistols you are required to get a background check at a sheriff's office instead of NICS. The permit is good for a certain number of days and you are required to surrender it upon purchase of a pistol, whether its private sale or at an FFL. Its not the perfect solution, but it takes all of 1 hr of waiting and $5 for the permit. Cheaper than most FFL transfers and just a slightly longer wait.
