  • I want a kimber eclipse custom II

I am selling my colt markIV series 80 this week and these particular kimbers have me drooling.

they look great and the sights look awesome!

This will never be a home protection gun unless i really need it..
Strictly a range/bbq gun.. They just look awesome to me.. or if anyone recommends something similar but better... i want a .45! i like 1911's but if you wanted to spend 1k on a sweet .45, what would ya do?

I like my kimber cdp pro.

I don't see a problem with Kimbers, I would never pay retail, but street price isn't all that bad I guess... just don't think you are getting a "custom" pistol. They are basically production line pistols, that said I liked my CDP I pro (70 series) that I got it used for a great price.

If I were in the $1.5k range I would buy a long slide 10mm from Fusion... They have some sexy 1911s at decent prices.

              In before TFP suggests STI.

I've got the Tactical Pro, and it shoots great, but I agree with not paying retail.

I have had 2 Kimbers and I would not hesitate to grab another. I never had a problem with them, they were both dead nuts accurate, and the 1911 is slim enough that it will conceal well without printing.

All that being said my next 1911 will be a Springfield most likely.

Wilson Combat and Ed Brown offer great guns but you are going to pay for them. I have shot all three of these and they are stupid accurate and about as well built as you are going to find.

But double the price plus some of that Eclipse.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Good looking gun but that looks hard as hell to conceal. I have a Kimber Ultra Carry II and have a hard time concealing it.

never had a problem concealing my full size 1911. I wear it behind my right hip and an untucked shirt covers it nicely. Other times I use an IWB holster and also have no problems. The thinness of a single stack keeps it from printing on my clothes. I carried a sub compact Glock and it was more obvious than my fullsize 1911

Kimbers are nice, but for the money a custom 1911 or even an STI would be a better choice. The problem is the cost of shooting .45 for me, I just can't justify it, unless you shoot enough to reload in which case it isn't as bad.
