Pre-68 weapons were not required to be serialized, some of my older weapons have no serials. How do you guys deal with that? Do you serialize them yourself somewhere? Or just hope they don't end up getting stolen?

I fear everyday when I leave that someone will break into my house and take my babies. I cannot wait until I can afford a good safe and bolt it down.
I have heard the picture path works but unless your photos contain the serial number, you might as well be giving a description to a police sketch artist. Not sure how true this is but it makes sense in a way.
Should you create your own serial # or perhaps use a DL#? I know SSN would be best but then again...lol you don’t want that data floating around. Without a number I have a feeling it would come down to a case of "he said she said", really no way to prove it's yours. Now if there was a hidden serial number, I think that would hold up.Comment

I would say just engrave your DL in a hidden location, take a photo of where it is and keep it for your records. Honestly it is a good idea to do this to all of your expensive items (electronics, bikes, power tools)Comment
