Sig Mosquito problems

I have a Sid Mosquito .22 that I cannot get broken down to clean. It shoots fine but is really dirty and needs to be cleaned. There is a lever on the side that you rotate 180* to the front and then you can pull the slide to the rear and up to get it off. The takedown lever is really hard to rotate and even when I flip it to the front like it's supposed to be I can pull the slide back but not up and off. Has anyone had any issues with these? I had a friend look at it that knows more about guns than me and we screwed with it for about 30 minutes trying to get it torn down with no luck. If not does anyone know someplace I could take it to to get torn down and cleaned/fixed?

After you rotate the take down lever forward, pull and hold the trigger down, and then pull the slide up and forward.

I've never had to pull and hold the trigger down to get the slide off but I will give it a shot when i get home tonight. I didn't look at videos online, I had a friend show me how to do it and that's how I learned, I will check those out to and see if I am overlooking something. I have cleaned it many times before, never had any issues though.
