I actually got a SMOKIN' deal on this, from a guy on craigslist!

Nightforce 5.5-22x50 with ZeroStop, and it came with a LaRue mount that I won't use on that scope but it will go well with my LaRue AR!

It was a random thought that went through my head when I looked in this thread. There was also this one dude that would play XBOX with us that went full retard about his Lapua. It just all culminated into a post that made me chuckle.

No, they don't match. But I talked to a buddy of mine who has extensive experience in the "field" with these types of scopes. He said that it really isn't that big of a deal. People did it for years. And the deal was so good that I picked it up to have something and if I don't like it I can probably make a few bucks on it if I decide to sell.

It really comes into play more when you aren't dialing, which I intend to do. Also, I feel like ranging is easier with mils.

You intend to not dial? If so then that makes sense. That's pretty much all I do with my scope at long range, and just about all the info and practice I use work off MOA. MIL (in my experience) is infrequently used in competition, at least in the competitions I do. As for range - I have a front focal plane scope so my ranging is extremely straight forward and easy, no need for the stupid calcs. But if you got a great deal on it, then who cares. That's a much better scope than what I use, but I really wanted a FFP.

It's not just added math converting.

MOA is a finer measurement than most MIL scopes unless you find one that adjusts in 1/20th mils.

I wanted a FFP, and was thinking strongly on the 3.5-15x50 NF, but like I said. I got a good deal on this one. I would think that as long as you know your dope in MOA than it shouldn't be that big of a deal to dial. I'm planning on dialing with this scope. Why did you say that it makes sense if I'm NOT planning on it.
