  • Limbsaver recoil pad

Anyone have experience with these? I picked one up at Bass Pro with points I had. Kind of a last minute pick up before deer hunting this weekend. It's the pre-fit kind and it's going on my grandfather's old Sears Ted Williams .270 rifle (aka Winchester Model 70). The factory recoil pad is old and hard as a rock. Maybe I'm just a p*ssy. Hahaha! I'm hoping it fits fairly well.

I have one on my Tika 7mm RemMag. It helps a bit, but it's still going to hammer.

I've got one on my .308 tikka as well. It helps a little but not much.

Dont expect it become a .22

Doesn't do a thing to tame the kick, just makes it where it doesn't hurt as bad, as quickly...

I have one on my Tikka T3 lite. It went from bruising in 5-10 rounds to comfortable to shoot at least a full box through...But, when actually hunting, i'm usually wearing heavy clothing so the pad is not really needed in the field. Just for the range trip once a year...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Did it fit pretty well? I'm just hoping to get a little improvement. Like I mentioned, the 40+ year old factory pad is like a rock.

My expectation is pretty low. :-)

Yeah it slipped right on, no problem with fitment.
              Here's a pic.

I got the screw on. I've heard they can be hit or miss with how well they fit. We'll see. Nice rifle.

Love them. I put them on most of my shotguns if they make a direct fit model.

Well, I got the old pad off (which was a Pachmayr White Line), but the direct fit Limbsaver didn't fit the wood stock. The holes lined up, and technically it would have worked, but would have looked pretty crappy being that much smaller than the wood stock.

I'll go back to Bass Pro at lunch tomorrow with the old Pachmayr pad and see if they have one the same size.

Well, I found one screw on that was pretty close but I think it would have still bothered me so I went with the slip on.

I put a slip on version on my Saiga 12. I think it made a considerable difference.

It's a screw on version and it doesn't quite line up, but it's close.

It's close enough that to get it perfect I'd have to fill and redrill my stock and I just dont want to do that right now.

                            So for now...
