Deer are color blind. The orange is for the idiots who shoot at everything that moves.

Camo allows for a little movement, If you blend in with the back drop its not as obvious as a solid color moving around

BTW a layer of capilene for the win. A layer of that under a thermal top or by itself at you are good to go.

Thankfully the land I hunt on doesn't have people, much less idiots anywhere near it. I rock a t-shirt and pants.

I used to hunt remote southern Oregon. And I mean remote, you don't expect anyone within miles of you. Early one morning I had that being watched feeling. Looked up the hill with my scope to see someone eyeballing me through theirs. I got the impression they were just watching me(only 250 yds or so) but fuck. If you can see me (orange on) please don't scope me. I jerked my scope off and moved around the hill.

Here in TX it is all about acres and deer leases it seems. Up there we hunted BLM land and fuckerballsshit there is a lot of it. Our answer to baiting down here was road hunting. When it rained the deer would come out of the brush and stand on the roads. It is illegal to shoot from your vehicle or the road. I might have seen that law broken a time or five.

When I was a senior in high school I would look out the window and see it raining. A few times I got up and started putting my books in my bag. I told the teacher I had a dental appointment and headed out. I would call my Mom and let her know where I would be hunting. She in turn would call the school and let them know I was off to see the dentist. I would hunt the rest of the day. That was my reward for keeping good grades.

I still don't junt down here cause I can't wrap my mind around the idea of feeders. To each their own.

*** edit kept my deer rifle in the truck on a rack for all to see in the school parking lot. Everyone did and no one thought a thing about it.

I don't like feeders, but I usually don't Deer hunt. I go for coyote or foxes mostly.

feeders are good for keeping deer around. mainly does. It does help if you actually supplement what they need.
