There are some good deals out there, but not many this time of year.

Also the off brands, and store brand stuff is typically 50-60% less than the majors

I agree with it not being the right time of year.

I've gotta think about sitting in the open with under 25 degree temps for 4 hours or more at a time. Then its gotta be quiet and not get in the way of shooting my bow.

Coincidentally this is also the cheapest.

One of the upsides to deer hunting in Texas. The first month of rifle season you can wear shorts and a t-shirt if you want.

I think I spent around $400 on my bibs and jacket. Hunted an open blind one morning in 7* weather. I had no problem spending the bread on them.
Now typically I wear a t-shirt and blue jeans, if it is just a little cold my Carhart which I will shed once I hit the blind and crank up the heater.

I wear a pair of Levi's and a old work shirt most of the time then when It's cold enough I throw a pair of insulated bib overalls on and a jacket.

Yeah, I spent about 450 on sale for a good set of gortex.

NO PLACE is cheap from what I could tell. Not wal-mart, academy...etc. I just been keeping an eye out for all the 50%+ off items and scooping them up.

Personally, I agree with some on here. I'm going relatively thin on upper/lower body stuff. If it's cold enough, I'll just have poly pros underneath.

wal-mart has killer sales at the end of the year. Usually half off, but none of the shit never fits me. Its always 2xxl left or xl.

It just doesnt work for me.

Well that's why! I bought a base layer (bottom) at walmart for less than 20 bucks.

I've come to like the Cabela's brand clothing/gear. Bought a nice jacket a few years ago after hunting season, when the big sales hit, was at least 50% off. I wear it every year when the cold fronts hit and haven't gotten cold yet. Sat through a few mornings of 18*-20* and not a chill...
