You can make the same srgument for the folks that choose a $1000+ RR, Colt, etc over the the lower cost DT, DS, etc AR15s.



From time to time I have seen Century AKs at Cabela's in Allen for $499 lately. The SGL was a bit cheaper when I bought mine but I got bit by Century when I bought a $400 dollar build of theirs. Sold it to buy the SGL and haven't had a single issue out it.


Again just like ARs you can spend as little or as much as you want.

The best AKs to have ever made it into the country are the Norincos and Polytechs (aside from any amnesty registered guns with a fun switch). The Polytech Legend is the best AK to have ever hit our shores. Arsenal SAM-7s are a close second.

Edit: Pre-ban mitchell-arms yugos are good too.

They still pop up for good prices, from time to time, too. A friend just snagged a MAK-90 with a thumbhole stock off the used rack at a gun store down here for $450. It looks brand new, and unfired.
