my setup to take to NM for long range is either a 700 bdl in 308 or 7mag though it's been a while since I had the ability to go out there
I only eject one round with my FN drop the other 6 out of the hinged floorplate. As for extra rounds I carry mine In a leather ammo carrier on my belt so no rattles .

We do a lot of moving from field to field and made it a rule to have all ammo out after a hole was put in a floorboard and everything below it one year (not by me) so dropping the ammo and then reloading each stop sucks. I hunted a 700 bdl 7mag or 6mm depending on the hunt before that

I wonder if I can do a DBM on my .350 Rem 600. Hmm... I wouldn't think it would be too hard. It works off a short action.

Is the 600 the same length as a 700? I believe they are shorter more like the Model 7.

It's a short action like a .308, which was the reason for the .350 rem mag cartridge to begin with, a short magnum. I'm pretty sure it's the same action unless I'm mistaken.

I think its the action screw spacing that makes it different and the exact placement of the trigger.

Few more of my hunting rigs. All are Remington 700's in AIC chassis, Badger Bolt knobs, fluted bolts, two have been to Shilen for new barrels & triggers and the other two are still using factory barrels.

Left two are .223 and right two are .308

Rich you need to come out to the SandPit when i am home next month. 350 is as far as we can get out but it is a nice range.

I would really like to try an AIC chassis out before i buy it over a JP Enterprise stock.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

AIC chassis feel different you either like them or completely hate them and they are pretty dang heavy.

I have held a few but never under the scrutiny of owning one. Weight is not an issue. Should have held my FN SPR A5 in .300wsm. That thing was a fucking pig.

A5's can be pretty heavy depending on the fill. The AIC just feel very odd to me and I never could get adjusted well while laying behind when shooting.

                              Keith,

Give me a call when you are in town. I think you should have my number from the Shoot Smart get together. I'm off Mon-Wed one week Wed-Fri the other with every other Sat Sun.. Weekdays are best for me. My buddy from work only uses McMillan stocks and they are nice. I just prefer the feel of the AIC and the fact that no inletting is required for a bottom metal.

I sure will. Might be closer to the end of the month. Thanks. PM me your number just in case.
