In that time I was at the range almost weekly. I first bought 600rounds from sgammo, then I shot all that and bought 1k of pmc bronze, then I bought another 500 of American eagle. That's only what I bought from sgammo. I bought 100 rounds from jewmadbro, and older friends have bought ammo for me to shoot. I have OVER 2k in that gun. I have pics to prove most of it, along with receipts if I saved them.2012 GT500

$600 could have bought a reloading press and loaded 3000 rounds of ammo, shit."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

I love 1911's and shoot better with them than any of the other 17 pistols we own. However, I think when your nuts or scores are on the line, the Glock gets it done....and for the record, I am NOT a Glock nut hugger.

The Glocks, M&P's and XD's always get the nod for duty guns for the lack of a manual safety to cause a hang up.
What are the main malfunctions you are seeing in comps? The last comp I was in (a few years a go) there were no malfunctions by any 1911's in the single stack class."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

That said, I'm in complete agreement. I know how cops treat their duty guns, and that "carried a lot and loved little" life is what the plastic guns were made for.Last edited by ThreeFingerPete; 09-28-2012, 09:07 PM.

As for single stack....not seeing many people shoot that around here. Saw first guy this last event and his gun had a lot of mods....and he still had a couple small issues with feeds. Similar magizine issues like I had with my .45. My double stack 9mm rock island worked great but my thumb kept hitting the safety. Never had that problem with my other 1911...?
