My world views haven't changed one iota, and despise alot of this nanny state, especially the bullet button and 10 round maximum. I was only speaking about the logistics of his post, I'm all for one's right to carry in whatever responsible manner they so choose.

I'm actually thankful in some respects that I've been out of the car hobby for a while, I haven't had to deal with all of the C.A.R.B. (ironically one of my clients) BS out here.

Agreed, but I believe in the right to choose to do so.

I have spoken to a few officers I know about this and the answers have ranged from I don't see it as an issue to I would stop them every time I saw them.

I open carried for a few years when I was stationed in North Carolina. For the most part a large majority of people don't even notice or care. Most people are in la la land and have feakin blinders on anyway.

I'm ready for Texas to pass it so I only have to wear one fucking shirt instead of an undershirt and a button down shirt over that.

Most people just prob think you are a off duty cop.

I just dont want someone to grab it while not paying attention, and so on. Concealed carry is much much much safer for everyone imho.

That same thug most certainly would be capable and willing to shoot someone that poses a threat to them.

You are also presuming that he/they see you before deciding to rob an establishement, it's not like a sign over the front door lights up, that says "armed citizen inside." You could be standing at the register with your gun on the opposite side of your body from the door when the bust in. As soon as they see the weapon or you attempting to draw, shots will be fired, and you won't be the one with your finger on the trigger.

I've polished my steel balls to a point that I can see into the future.

My point was that everything is subjective, and in most cases I would think that open carry is a deterent, though there are invariably extenuating circimstances where it could make you a target.

My opinion is a subjective one, but in every state I've ever been to that allowed open carry, the only one people that I've heard of regularly fucking with people open carrying were the Philadelphia police. I understand Denver has banned the practice, though. I'm sure that'd get overturned if it went to the SCoTUS, after the Heller decision, but fuck being the guy carrying that load. My wallet couldn't handle it.

I wish Texas was open carry. It would make things much easier. At least gimme the choice.

One thing I did like being in Nevada, is you get off the range and not have to take all your gear off first, especially if you knew you were coming back.

I wish Texas had the option, but I would still conceal 99% of the time. The way I see it, if you were in a store and you were open carrying and there was a robbery, an open carried gun would probably make you an immediate target. There is a good chance a concealed gun would actually give you more time to go unnoticed and draw your gun, at least I would think so.

That being said, open carry was damn nice on my motorcycle when I lived in Phoenix, but that was about the only time I really used it there.
