I have come across more Glock fans that switched to XDs than XD fans switching to Glocks.

I've owned both and shot both at IDPA. I prefer the XD/XDm.

Doesn't the XDM already have the fiber optic sights and trigger work done?

Going to go shoot both today and make up my mind...then just have to shop a little for good price on the XDM....if I can find it. Local shops which are small time are all sold out. Might have to go to Houston.

i have the xdm 5.25. bought it black friday from bullet trap when they had 10% off and springfield threw in 3 free mags.

imo, it's a great gun and wouldnt hesitate to buy one even at full price.
i dont shoot competition so i can't offer any insight on that but if i was, i would use this gun. i would probably upgrade the trigger first.

it's been a while so i can't give a comparison, but i have shot a glock 34 as well, i thought it was the nicest glock i've ever shot. my only complaint is how a glock fits my hand, so unless i come across a heck of a deal, i doubt i will own one.

Gen 3 or 4 on the glock. I like the feel of the Gen 4 a little better but reading all the problems about using cheap ammo and needing lighter springs and breaking ejectors....the Gen 3 seems the smarter buy of the two.

Still leaning toward the XDm....just have to find it.

            Thanks for the info.

              ** TYPICAL DOHCTR POST **

Stop limp wristing that biatch!! 20 years of shooting Glocks and I only had one jam, when I broke the recoil rod shooting +P loads on a brand new Glock 27.

That brings up an interesting point, it's cheaper to modify a Glock than the XD but personally I would wait until you've had trigger time on both guns before making a decision.

Personally, my next gun I have my mind set on is a .45 Compact XDm.

Damn, just realized that the link to the 9mm was also back ordered.

I didn't link him to BGS because I assume he is looking specifically for 9mm. But now I see I am an idiot for linking him to yet another backordered gun.

headed to range now. I can only fire the standard XDm...not the competition model. I will assume it will be marginally better.

I did find a 9mm XDm comp and it's only about 1.5 hours from me. Headed to another shop down near Brenham after lunch.

Anyone interested in a VERY clean Sig 220 before I get raped on trade in?! LOL!

Both are fine guns. Glock factory magazines can be bought for less than 20.00. That's a bu seller for me

liked the Glock feel better but the grip was a little large. Was very accurate it with the first mag.

XD grip was better, but was hunting for accuracy after the first mag. Seems the trigger pull was forcing me left. Glock did not do that.

Gen 4 glock has a smaller/adjustable back strap so that would be better than the Gen 3 I shot....but then there is the interwebz cry babies about reliability on the Gen 4 and later Gen3's....

I think I am going to call around and find prices on the Glock and probably seal the deal on the Gen 4. It's cheaper and with the Glock days this friday, I get a lot of free shit with it and an extra mag for a total of 4 but need to buy a 5th.

Thanks for all the info and input in here. Hopefully it won't blow up in my face or jam/break.

I have two of them and I am keeping my elite. This one is basic service 220 I bought about 2 years ago with fresh night sights and was a Sig Certified used (red box). Including a Fobis holster.

Thanks to TX gun trader ad I placed last night, I am meeting a guy today to look at it. Priced it to sell quick at $475 with holster.
