  • Why do people still go to Gun Shows?

I had talked a guy down on a very nice Mossberg 930 SPX, but he lived in Cleburne. Said he was going to the Will Rogers Gun Show if I wanted to meet him there. I figured $10 would be worth the time and gas saved.

So we meet, do the deal, love the shotgun's condition and then I proceed to browse around. I have no idea why anyone goes to shows like this. I did not see one good deal there.

Ammunition was overpriced, there was sooo much chinese crap (lasers, scopes, holodots, eotech knockoffs). I found the very same shotgun I just bought 30 minutes before, for $735 after tax, I paid $550 all said and done...

The only reason I am glad I went is I finally was able to lay hands and play with the safe I am getting in October.

Other than possibly PMAGS, what is there at a gunshow that is cheaper than retail/online bargaining?

I like to go just to look around. There's always a table by Georgia Arms and they sometimes have alright deals on their ammunition. I do remember one table had a Beretta 92 for sale that looked like it had been tied up like Griswold's dog and drug for miles. The action was sticky and it had a price tag of $450.00. There are always tables that have WWII stuff as well that I like to rummage around in. Most ammo I've seen f/s is perhaps the same price as listed on a given website, but no shipping charges.

This. On the rare occasion that I go, this is the only reason.

I haven't been able to find good deals at gun shows since Obummer took office. Last gun I bought at a show was a Remington R25. Paid $950 for it otd, sold it 6 months later for $1,200. Only been to a couple shows since and haven't found any good deals on anything...

Only reason why I go is to finger fuck everything and look at what i may be interesting in hands on. After that, I find people watching the next best part.

I'm kind of new to the gun scene so I like to look at things that I'm not familiar with and handle a bunch of guns I wouldn't normally get to. The prices are usually pretty high but most of the time I can at least pick out something I like then go home and find it cheaper.

I usually don't see any great deals at gun show but this last Lewisville one I picked up a new ps90 for a couple hundred less than the used ones are going for. Another plus to the above mentioned is no FFL fees.

I haven't been to a gun show in at least 6yrs prices and people are too stupid to deal with.

                    I go because:

-I like to handle guns that I have not seen or shot before to get a feel for them and gauge their quality as best I can
-I know people who work the shows so I like the talk with them and catch up
-I sell random stuff at them that I no longer want or need
-Sometimes you come across some pretty good deals from individuals who have booths
-It is a good way to spend a Saturday or Sunday with my father (we always try to make it to Market hall together)
-I like looking at the war relics that are there and some of the odd historical artifacts like old currency and whatnot
-Sometimes they have cool displays of military vehicles that I enjoy looking at
-The beef jerky and roasted nuts rock my fucking face off
