I've been out shooting several times recently, trying to figure out what I'm going to do about a place to hunt.

Hell yes i am. If i can kill it and eat it im ready. I picked up 250 rounds the other day for the 870. Last year sucked as a cold snap sent the birds on. You where happy to see and shoot 3-4 birds a day.

With no rain im going to have my decoys set up on my water tanks.

A little tip for some of you to try. I really like the mojo decoy, but stick it up in the air 10-15 feet on a metal pole. It really brings them in here in kansas.

7-9th, with all this rain it looks promising. It can't possibly be as bad as last year.

I'll be up that way too on opening day. I have a 178 acres in Turkey, the only place in Texas I've ever shot whitewings.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

As far as taste go dove is a tough meat unless you do it right. Most everyone cuts the meat off the breast bone and soaks overnight in buttermilk and then wraps with bacon and adds their flavoring of choice. Grill until done.

Thats as simple as it gets recipe wise. I enjoy them, but most importantly i know fall hunting season is here, and i get to enjoy life for a while.

We put our slices in a halved and de-seeded/vained Jalapeno then wrap in bacon and cook adds a nice little kick.

And I've been ready for a while was hooping I would have picked a new shotty by now but the O/U and 1100 will be ready and waiting instead.

just smaller and more inconvenient. You need 10 of those bastards for a proper meal, but with a little cheese, garlic, jalapeno, wrapped in bacon.. mm MM..
