Lewisville Police Chief Russ Kerbow stated that of the transfer requests he has received, he mostly does not approve them because he does not know the individual.
      Typical.

Other items included silencers, body armor, military helmets, military medic sets, and 1,328 30-round .223 caliber rifle magazines. Whittington also possessed 61 cases of MREs, "Meals, ready to eat" - shelf-stable rations used by U.S. troops.
Aside from the suppressors (not being illegal, just regulated) there is not a single illegal thing in that list, yet they want to criminalize body armor (probably AR500 steel) Pmags and MRE's?

Yeesh...sensational writing there. I can get 95% of that stuff at CheaperThanDirt

One can probably make an argument that most of that govt shit is stolen. 249 barrels are all mostly stolen govt items. They"re not just sold to the public from the govt.

The barrels could have come from anywhere. It could have been from a mfr who didn't get the contract, an overproduced item due to budget cuts, or items that didnt pass exterior qc

I don't guess there are many transferable M249s? And the barrels probably don't fit on anything else?

Only one, but several companies make semi auto ones and post samples for sale. I know 3 or 4 people who have posties.

                        There's a STI/SVI open gun in there, that's at least $2000-4500 depending on type/condition/options/etc.
