Im leaning towards something such as the S&W 38 Special Bodyguard or something like that. in the $400-$500 range. I like the bodyguard because its hammerless, a revolver, and it feels pretty damned good in my hand. I grew up shooting a snubnosed 38 and I know they are loud, powerful for their size, and lets be honest.....suck to shoot. I like the fact that it is a simple dirty gun. just pull point and boom.

I have never shot an airweight but have considered one as well.

Just wanting a simple, stop an asshole gun.

I carry a 360pd when im not wearing a belt, and it rocks. All of the pros of the jframe, plus a lot more thump. Id also highly recommend the kahr pm9.

I say get the revolver. You know you like it. It fits you well. I think that and an ar and my collection should be done.

Might also look into a Ruger LCR, I've heard nothing but good things about them. I have a Taurus M85 that I've had really good luck with and they are pretty reasonably priced (cheap, like $300 cheap).

I like my little S&W 642 .38 special. My only complaint was the horrendous 12 lb factory trigger pull but I put in the Apex Tactical Specialties J-Frame drop in duty/carry spring kit that 03trubluGT had recommended and it helped a lot.
I'd love to have a 360PD like Adam mentioned to be able to shoot .357 Mag if I find one for a good price used.

If you arent going to shoot a lot out of the revolver buy a Taurus. They are less expensive and they work.

Also Id pass on the bodyguard. I know that the idea of having a factory laser on it could be appealing but the on/off button is in a horrible spot on those. Besides if you needed the gun, 99.9% of the time you wouldnt turn it on
