Here's a few of the pics off the camera from last weekends trip. There is a freak NT not sure if he's on his way out or a future monster, also a darn nice main frame 8 that may have a kicker or 2 and a nice old buck with a heck of a horn on one side and a broken/deformed horn on the other.
Saw these on THF. And I'm gonna go against the grain and say that he's a 3.5. Rack is very impressive, but he just don't looked like a 4.5 plus to me. Could be a late bloomer making him a 4 at best. Last years drought could of effected his build a bit, but I still think he's younger that ya think.
I'm really stumped on this guy he has several signs of being older yet nobody on the lease ever saw anything close to that much of a NT freak so that makes ne think he could be younger. The drought last year was pretty rough but most of the bucks faired really well compared to the does, the two bucks taken off the lease both weighed over 150 dressed so they were getting good eats somewhere.
"It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"
This was my first impression but in flat ground his back has the slight sag and his belly line is straighter but his neck and head show to be younger. Another throw off is the already darkened tarsal glands a full month before rut starts which is another sign of a more mature deer. Hopefully he keeps coming around so someone can get a good look at him in the flesh instead of just pics.

You and I are the only ones saying that. The build of the neck and the way it meets the chest is where I see a younger buck. Also he has a slinder face. I can see where it is guessed older too though. What makes him look older is the short legs and the squared out body and some of his coloring. Easy to be on the fence with this one.

Agreed.
Hey. If you do shoot him this year, please age him by his teeth. I would be very interested in knowing. He is a freak either way, lol.
Here's a few more pics of him that make his nos look longer and show the more squareness to his body. The area where the neck and head still to me looks thin for an older deer, just needs a good looking over. Also it appears we have one of the fattest coons I've ever seen.
