I took my "new" Taurus PT92 to the range today and loved how it shot. Great gun for the price. Very accurate and low recoil

I highly recommend you try one out and see if it fits the way you prefer. They are reliable, easy to disassemble and clean, plus plenty of parts available. They are heavy, but if you are also a 1911 guy like me then it may not bother you. As far as the triggers, they are not the best but a Wolf trigger conversion ($20) and "D" Hammer spring ($6) will really clean it up and the parts can be had through Brownells.

I have small-ish hands and while I love the gun's accuracy and reliability, it was just too large for my grip.

I really want to shoot a CZ-75 and a Tanfoglio.

I would recommend the CZ75 in a heartbeat. Sig 226 is good too. I just bought the wife a beautiful used German made P228 I found in Brenham. Barely used at all, sig re-certified with 2 mags....I stole it for $505. Picked up a full frame P250 at the same time for a cheap ass truck gun. They were practically giving away stuff in their used case. Might go back for more.....

You can find some crazy deals on 226's used because there are so many of them out there. CZ's are starting to go up in price so jump now. I have the SP-01 and wouldn't mind the full frame model.

As for the 92FS....goofy safety that you can barely reach for the loss. Same for the baby eagle even though I like it.

I still want a .40 but may wait a while till I figure out my next purchase. We have 7 sigs now and I might just have to buy a 226 in .40 to complete the line up!

Along the Beretta lines you might check out a Beretta PX4 Storm. It can be had in 9, 40, and 45 with full size, compact, and sub-compact. I see them used in the $500 range on the Beretta forum fairly often.

I haven't shot a 92 yet, but it had a much better feel than the 96 I shot. Pretty sure it is lighter than a 92/96 but I don't know for sure.

As much as I think the PX4 is tremendously ugly and looks like something that belongs on Star Trek, they do shoot pretty nice. I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up if I could get over what they look like.

Haha I actually like the looks of it, but it's not for everybody. The Star Trek comment is fairly on point though, now that I think about it.
