  • Looking for a decent 12 gauge

Looking for a decent 12 gauge. I've been wanting to pick one up, but after my wife told me about the guy that came by today wanting to know what kind of home alarm we had and if her husband was home...(she had her 9mm when she answered) I want her to have a 12 gauge. I'd rather her look through the peep hole, rack the gun, and then ask "who is it?" than answer or not answer the door.

Any one have a, or know where I can find a pump action for a bargain?

If it's mainly for the wife, I'd say Mossberg Maverick 88.

Remington 870. Nuff said. Dont be afraid of buying a youth 20g if she is shorter than 5'6

Depending if your going tacticool or not. Ive had mossburgs and always go back to remington shotguns.

Will that get me a mossburg? I'm not against picking up something used.

She wouldn't like the 20g. She's 5'1", but is more than comfortable behind a mosin nagant 7.62

I got 125 for my used Mossberg Maverick 88 12ga. They dont have a ton of resell value its finding someone willing to let it go at that price. Even new that are under 200

Mossberg 88. I like the remi I have now a lot. Don't be scared of the Asian knock offs. Nothing but good said about them. H&R and the other is Stevens something or another. Both under 200

I just ordered a Rem 870 Express Tactical w/ XS Ghost ring sights from Bud's. Been needing a shotgun to round out my collection and settled on this one. I really wanted the 870 Marine Magnum...but I just couldn't justify the $700 price tag.

What little i have been around shotguns, i have been fond of the Remington 870. I havent tried the Mossberg 500, but i would be comfortable in that family.

SHit there is nothing wrong with a 20g.

Take her to the store and let her put them up on her shoulder. The faster she can get it up there the more accurate she will be.

She can do like i did as well for my 12g hunting gun. I put a youth stock on mine for the shorter stock. Factory fit and really helps get it on the shoulder.

Whether she wants one or not, she'd be more effective with a youth sized 20g.

                              That's ridiculous and stupid.
