If you are buying a Mossberg save up a little more money and buy the 590A1.

I personally like the Mossberg 590s better then the Remington 870. I shoot long guns either handed and the top mounted safety on the Mossberg works well for that. The hole that you stick the shells into is also larger on the Mossberg and is a better fit for me because I like to wear gloves.
