I have been collecting knives ever since I was probably 6 and have always kept them at my grandfathers place until I was a bit older and more responsible. I collected everything and even a few gems that I didn't understand at the time.
I visited last week and decided to take a look as I remember there being an old knife. In the pile of knives was an old 1821 Dagger/Letter opener like the image below. However, mine is missing the sleeve and is in rather "rough shape".
I have found a few reproductions but haven't had much luck of finding a genuine item. Does anyone know anything about this and could possibly shed a bit more light? Id like to know what it is exactly and possibly a cost.
