Do you really think that Russia invading Afghanistan is a reasonable comparison? Considering the terrain of Afghanistan has proven to be (relatively) difficult for America to deal with, it doesn't even bear a vague resemblance to a similar scenario in the U.S.

I thought about posting this story up last week but didn't think it would get any traction for some reason. Anyway, here. His petitions have been effective in the past.

How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

There's varrying terrain all over the states, but there's a lot of factors at play. Urban warfare could prove hard to anyone when the opposing force is dug in. I think sheer numbers would overcome a well funded force.....

It'd be super difficult. As it stands, the vast majority of Americans live in a well laid out, easily defeated urban model. Most of us are very easy to segregate from our resources, and the interstates are designed to be easily defended and controlled.

Exactly. The Interstates are designed to carry war material and be defensible. As far as the cities? Have you ever tried fighting an insurgency in a city?

One thing I have not seen mentioned about this civil war is that our military are also Americans and a good portion of the men and women serving are from the states that would most likely rise up and rebel. I personally think they would switch side because they would not want to fight their family and friends. Russia invading Afghanistan is completely different because it was one country going to a different country. No Russian was forced to stare down another Russian.

I most likely missed it. Reading this at work and get interrupted by phone calls.

You obviously never heard of the Bolshevik revolution nor the war of 1917, nor the Ruso-japanese war.

I think they'd deem the people domestic terrorist and send the armed forces that way...
