I just started shooting here in the last few months and right now I just have pistols and have been going to Elm Fork to shoot but am wanting to get an AR and a few other rifles to play with. The question is is there anywhere I can go to just shoot on my own like out in the country or something? I don't know anyone who has a deer lease or lots of land or anything like that. I would like to be able to go out somewhere and shoot at some cans or fruit or some of those exploding targets. Do I just need to get to know someone who has a deer lease or some property or what. I know this is probably a dumb question but I'm kind of new to this and just looking for new ways to shoot.

Everyone in my neighborhood shoots on their 1-3 acre plots of land. As long as the bullets don't cross your property line.
Edit:
From what I'm reading is Texas says if you have more then 10 acres you can shoot shotguns, rim fire, and bow no matter what the county says. 50 acres for center fire. Land smaller then that is determined by county.Last edited by FATHERFORD; 07-03-2012, 01:09 PM."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
