I'd rather pay Tiger Valley for one of their one night work shops. They have an established Rep. I've never heard of Shoot Smart.

They are right in your neck of the woods off 35w/heritage trace. It's a very nice yet small range that is in the process of expanding. The staff I've dealt with have been great and they aren't a bunch of old crotchety know it alls. They host a .22 league and a tactical league, they do cheap rentals, one fee and you can swap for others as you wish, you can bring your own ammo to run in the rentals but the prices they have are mostly on par with wally world. They allow non magnum rifle, machineguns......its a nice place, I wish it was closer to me.

Oooor, we could pay Chuck Ross for a tactical carbine class, and just bring whatever rig we have handy. He was a Marine Corps primary marksmanship instructor, and is a hell of a good dude.

Nice, I've been there after hours a few times and always had fun.

Tactical league is teams of three shooters each, think IDPA/IPSC courses, rifle and pistol and scored the same.

If your interested in doing it, let me know. It's 200 and i believe 8 weeks long, starts around 7:30 with a shooters meeting. The requirements are a rifle no less than 5.56, pistol no less than 9mm and holster, no IWB or concealment, three rifle mags are recommended and three high cap pistol mags or five for single stack guns. Weapon light is handy too as they do a lights out course.

I'll be interested on the after the 13th of next month when I go back to living in Saginaw. They are not far away at all.

I might drop the 90 bucks to run their LVL 2 course and put an after action report here on how it was.

So I take it these guys are alot better than the ones over at Elk Castle? That place always bugs me for some reason.

shameless plug for the build party BUT, come out and fondle a few ARs. If you know how they go together you can clean them a lot easier too.
