    AR-15 "pistol" question

    I have heard people refer to their
    Short AR-15 as a "pistol"

    What's the difference between a SBR and a AR-15 "pistol"

    A SBR has a stock. A pistol has a buffer tube with no stock and cannot have a front vertical grip.

    A receiver that started out as a pistol or a stripped lower can be made into a pistol or a rifle. A receiver that started out as a rifle cannot be turned into a pistol.

        Yes that is an AR-15 "pistol". I've thought about making a 7 inch barreled one just for shits and giggles.

          Gun show this weekend. Model 1 7.5" barrel for a hundred plus and a pistol buffer. Bam a pistol on an unregistered rifle lower. Do it.

            Assuming that receiver has never had a stock on it, then yes, that is a pistol.

                    Cause we can.

                    CJ I think that's a rubber bumper piece folks stick on the end to make it more comfortable to shoulder the buffer tube.

                      I just don't have the money right now if it was the first I'd be there.

                      I was going to go down and pick up a new stripped lower for an A4 build on the first but I think I'm gonna build a pistol on it instead now with 7.5 in. barrel.

                        $100 for a 7.5" .223 barrel? That's a pretty good deal, I'd do that.

                              Because it's almost as entertaining to shoot as my M38s. Nothing like being able to see the fireball out the muzzle at noon on a summer day lol. Eventually I will get around to finishing it out as an SBR.
