My first AR build

So I may go ahead and build a .300 and I'm trying to figure out what all is needed to do a build as far as parts.

Buy my Daniel Defense in the classifieds and toss a new barrel in it, then keep the CHF 5.56 barrel in case you change your mind, or sell it to pay for your Blackout barrel.

Isn't the only difference the barrel? If so why not just hop into the .300?

I'm with CJ on this as being a newb to this in the last 6 months. I spent hours and hours looking things up and still have no clue. I went with a 223 on my first and am ready to expand on it now.
