Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

That is why I am glad our meter is right off the driveway and in plain view from the road.

We have a massive safe and other "vaults" it is just out of habbit to have them close to hand. I carry daily (personal and work). Just have to adjust my SOP.

exactly I stopped knocking on peoples doors to let them know i was the cable guy and could i have permission blah blah blah. So many of them were goddamned dicks to me when i did it that way i stopped. I could be in and out of an easement area before 95% of people knew i was there. When some asshole would come up and talk shit, they would be reminded that they do not own that part of the property. plain and simple.

With everything being said.. All of my weapons are locked up aside from one of them (at a time).. I have made it very improtant to my boy that guns are not toys and are never to be touched (the home protection gun isnt loaded but has a mag near by). He has watched me clean them and has asked a few questions. I always answer honestly and remind him how dangerous they are and they are only for home protection and target practice (I dont hunt). He actually hasnt even asked to touch one to my surprise.. I did let him shoot a daisy lever bb gun a couple weeks ago and he liked it. I will let him shoot a firearm when i believe he's ready but the first gun he shoots wont be a .22 rifle... I want him to feel some recoil so he actually knows what a gun is and how dangerous one can actually be. He's 8 right now and i think he will be ready in the next year or two.. not gonna stick a .357 mag in his hand for the first shot but probably a bolt action rifle that kicks enough let him understand what a gun is capable of.

i understand. My tool belt, and hardhat normally told everybody who i was, but once a month some jerkoff redneck with a couple pitts would come out and say "boy, sherz a good thang i didnt have my dawgz out." I would lift up my shirt showing my little snubnosed 38 and say "yep, sure is a good thang."

You can still store it there, just get a small hand gun safe with a quick release, yet "secret" finger combination. Mount it behind and TO the nightstand. When needed just hit the combo and the door opens. You're ready to go. Like this, but sideways behind the night stand.

This will change soon. Mine haven't been laying around since my daughter was born almost 16 years ago. I do need a couple of these as well, but have put it off forever.

The "best" one I had when she was born was the 12 ga Defender, mag full of 4 shot turkey loads, and a shell "halfway", so whe you picked it up, it chambered the round. Very effective home defense, and simple to aim. Not good with kids, or really anyone else in the house.
